Welcome to Pete's Page! :-)

Bay gelding - born: 8/31/99

Update: 04/06 : Pete and Greg at the Piedmont PFHA show at the T. Ed Garrision Arena in Clemson, SC.

Took a 2nd, 3rd, and 6th in A.O Pleasure Geldings - qualified for Nationals

Murfreesboro, TN - 2005

First, we study the ring ve-e-r-r-ry carefully!

Then we take a spin around the ring to chase away the enclosed arena monsters...

Next, we wait in the warm-up ring (heat index was about 115 that weekend) with firends...

Now it's line-up time....

Everybody waits for their turn....

The dismount and mount on the offside requirement...

And the judges' close up inspection....

Update: 08/05 : Pete and Greg competed in their first 'big' show with mixed results, but lots of experience and education! Thanks to Nicole for sending the pix from the show!

Update: 6/26/04 : Pete just returned from the Asheville Piedmont Classic - he thoroughly enjoyed 'spectating' and checking out the show ring after the classes were done in the evening, but that colorful lining along the edge of the ring was just about a heart-stopper for him... :-)

Update: 4/16/03 : Pete is now going well under saddle! Even went on his first 'moonlight ride' (even if it was just around the pasture! :-)

 11/02

After a lot of running, rolling, and playing all day, Pete isn't exactly in 'show shape', but he's obviously a much different Paso than the one I brought home almost 3 years ago!

Who is this handsome guy?

In 2000, it was this little guy....

Pete's Pedigree

Pete was purchased in July of 2000 in a neglected state of health due to difficult family circumstances. Eleven months later, you can see an enormous improvement in his attitude, size, and general health! The best bonus of all, though, is what promises to be an exquisitely smooth gait and incredibly friendly disposition!

2002:
As a two year old, Pete was fed exclusively Purina's Equine Junior and either coastal bermuda or Tift 44 coastal bermuda hay with a a tiny bit of alfalfa mixed in. LOL! NOT a paid advertisement, but I've had a number of people ask me what feeding program he was on. I hope you can see that Pete has accomplished an amazing recovery.

My best guess is that he should mature somewhere between 14.2 and 14.3 hands. His attitude is now much improved, also. He is extremely grateful, is totally people-friendly, and will do nearly _anything_ to get you to scratch his favorite spots. In fact... Pete is clearly the barn clown! Pete is currently being worked very lightly under saddle. His gait is so exceptionally smooth that it is difficult not to want to ride him more!
