Latest Update: 8/16/08
Arrowhead Paso Finos is a small breeding farm,
so every breeding is carefully considered to perpetuate natural range of gait, substance, disposition, and endurance.
We breed what we like and ride ourselves. We will consider terms and financing when possible.

These two mares and filly offered for sale as we plan to concentrate more on our breeding stallions in the future.

WHY WAIT FOR SADDLE CLASSES?

"Tight and quick" describe this filly to a "T". As the 'last will be first', the first thing everyone notices is her incredible hindquarters - built for power - an absolute must in today's competitive show ring! Being low-handed - from both parents - she has the genetics for being a potential fino star.

Many breeders say the sire will pass on his dam. If so, Cacique ('Red') - should pass on his dam - Fantasia la Joya - producer of a two time world fino champion!

Sire: is a rare natural fino with an extremely fast, short, accurate step. Direct Hussein grandson and son of Fantasia la Joya - producer of world champions
Dam: is accurate, powerful under saddle, and level headed. Dam's sire was successfully shown in Bella Forma and 'old' fino.

Looks great with the taller rider...

'Katie' has the complete package of size, range of gait, speed, substance, and great disposition. She is at least 14.2 hands, has a wonderfully smooth slow corto and a fast largo that we have not reached the top end of - yet. She is being trained with Limited Distance endurance rides in mind and will enter her first Limited Distance event later this year.

She shows a lot of promise on the trail with her level-headedness, smooth range of gait, agility, and willingness to move. She is equally comfortable leading, bringing up the rear, or in the middle of the pack. She is easy to handle and friendly, comes to us in the pasture when called.

Currently ridden in bosal or Little 'S' hackamore, has carried a bit.

Strong substantial and easy to rate. She has pretty much resolved her water crossing issues and is showingthe agility and athleticism we expect from her breeding.

Sire: Corals John Henry de Vez - a much favored son of the legendary Coral LaCE. John Henry puts size, accurate gait, agility, and speed on his offspring.

Dam: Delicadeza - a substantial, tall mare with great heart. She passes along her classic good looks from both sides of her pedigree.

Current riding status:
Intermediate rider with some training experience

Rosie is one of those 'old souls' who seems to be 'born broke'. We started 3 of her older half brothers by the same sire and they were all out of the trails within 2 weeks of being saddled.

Rosie might be a consideration for show pleasure as she is flashy and animated enough with 'low hands' without being too tightly gaited for pleasure. Rosie is flashy and smooth under saddle although she has limited training at this time due to other obligations we had in working other horses... We just haven't had the time to work her regularly. The few times we have had time to ride her, she has acted as though she was 'born broke'.

She has been on one trail ride for approximately 2 hours long and did a very good job of maneuvering the trails. She has been ridden in bosal only and is ready to finish by a rider with intermediate ability and some previous experience. She has already produced an outstanding filly with tremendous show potential when crossed to a naturally fast, accurate fino stallion and would make a very nice broodmare.

Sire: a 'que tal' stallion from Meridian Meadows - a champion in his own right
Dam: Pure Puerto Rican mare originally chosen for her accurate gait and good sense as she was chosen for a handicapped rider.

Rosie is 14 hands, friendly, and easy to catch in pasture or paddock.

Picture taken June '08 - unfortuantely - Rosie was preoccupied at the time...
and not willing to pose for her protrait...
